I also wanted to integrate neurobiology and attachment so that I could deepen healing in body, mind and heart. “As a brand new counselor I feel very fortunate to be starting out with such a solid theoretical foundation. This body of work combines cutting edge science with the wisdom gained from much clinical experience. It has provided me with something I didn’t realize was possible – a well-defined map to the territory of the human mind and heart and the skills to navigate it. As I begin to apply what I have learned in the DEEP training and make it my own, I am awed by its power. As Candyce says, ‘This stuff works!’”

“Being a DEEP therapist means being present and feeling with clients, as opposed to intellectualizing or only talking our way through or out of things. As a gender therapist, many of my clients long to be more themselves, to see themselves as they are and be seen more fully by others. The DEEP training affirmed for me that a relational therapeutic style rooted in interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, and emotion theory is the way to healing and fuller authentic expression for clients. We feel our way through things! ”

“As a physician, psychiatrist and internist who studied psychotherapy in the 80’s at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago with Freudian and Kohutian psychoanalysts, it was a pleasure to come ‘up to date’ in the DEEP class concerning the newer relevant findings in the field of interpersonal neurobiology. This is a far cry from the now antediluvian concepts we once studied in ‘psychosomatic medicine.’ I feel honored to be in the 1% of M.D.’s with a skill set that includes doing talk-therapy

A person who intuits the ways of the heart stands a better chance of living well. A society of those who do so holds a promise we can only guess at. While we cannot alter the nature of love, we can choose to defy its dictates or to thrive within its walls. Those with the wisdom to thrive within its walls will heed their hearts and draw strength from their relatedness.
Lewis, Amini, and Lannon
